Michele Liu Baillie is an award winning attorney and a recognized leader in her field. For more than 25 years, Ms. Baillie has worked closely with many Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized companies, startups, and individual inventors in the U.S. and abroad, including Silicon Valley and New England.
Ms. Baillie specializes in the preparation and prosecution of utility and design patents, patentability analyses, product clearances, and trademark prosecution. Her expertise includes the counseling of clients in U.S. and foreign patent filing strategy and portfolio management. Ms. Baillie has the distinction of being named as a a Top Women of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2018 and a Super Lawyer by New England Super Lawyers in 2018-2021. She was also named a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers in 2015 and Boston Magazine in 2016.
Prior to founding North Shore Patents, Ms. Baillie was a partner at a boutique IP firm in Palo Alto, California. Ms. Baillie has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Ms. Baillie is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed in Massachusetts and California.
Ms. Baillie has held many leadership positions throughout her career and is actively involved in the community. Most recently, she serves as the Secretary of The Boston Club, a premier organization of senior professional women. For 9 years, Ms. Baillie served on the board of directors of the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts (WBA), the largest women bar association in the Commonwealth. Ms. Baillie had the distinction of serving as the President of the WBA from 2017-2018. Ms. Baillie is currently a member of the Boston Bar Association and sits on the steering committee of the Solo and Small Firm Forum. Ms. Baillie is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the American Bar Association (ABA), the International Trademark Association (INTA), and the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM).
Ms. Baillie is a passionate animal lover and an avid amateur potter.
